Continuing Education through CI2025 Boston: Conference on Cochlear Implants

About CI2025 Boston:

The CI2025 Boston Symposium will assemble a multi-specialty group of clinicians and scientists to explore and foster dissemination of multi-disciplinary scientific information applicable to audiologists, physicians, speech pathologists, psychologists, scientists, engineers, educators, students, advocates, and others involved in cochlear implantation. The conference will provide att­endees with opportunities to explore current global topics for CI patients across the lifespan. The conference will include keynote lectures, panel sessions, podium and poster sessions which will allow attendees to pursue a wide array of cochlear implant and related content.

The CI2025 Boston Conference is approved to provide continuing education credits from past providers – AAA, AG Bell, and ASHA, as well as CME credits from the American College of Surgeons, accredited by the ACCME.

CEU claiming is closed. Certificates for those who claimed CEUs will be sent via email by July 15, 2025.

For CME credit, please complete an electronic CME Claim Evaluation form. The form must be submitted by June 20, 2025.
Only physicians (non-Resident MDs/DOs) are eligible to receive CME credits. The Completion Certificate can be issued to all non-physician learners (including Residents). A certificate will be issued by August 15, 2025.

Please note, for us to be accredited by these agencies, we must adhere to their timelines. In most cases, that means submitting a final CEU report to them within 30 days of the conference end date. For us to compile and submit these reports, we must receive your completed CEU forms no later than 5 days after the conference has concluded. This allows us to check for errors and ensure that all information is submitted accurately. Our recommendation is that you use your program book to record your CEU codes after each session you attend, then at the conclusion of the conference, you can use the QR code located in your program book to enter these codes and submit prior to leaving the conference site.

Accreditation for Continuing Education credits and Continuing Medical Education credits in the designated amounts will be provided from the accrediting organizations shown below. Reporting to accrediting organizations is be based on meeting registrants' completion and submission of online claim forms available during a specified meeting period. Reporting dates are set by accrediting organizations and adhered to by ACI Alliance to ensure future accreditation and Continuing Education and Continuing Medical Education credit offerings.

Award of CME credits by ACS is based on compliance of the program with the ACCME accreditation requirements and does not imply endorsement by ACS of the content, the faculty, or the sponsor of the program.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
This activity is designed for physicians, nurses, clinicians, scientists, educators, and all individuals involved in cochlear implantation. Upon completion of this course, participants will have gained a comprehensive overview of the current state of scientific information within both adult and pediatric cochlear implantation populations. The symposium will delve into a number of critical discussions, aiming to maximize the quality of care for all cochlear implant recipients with the following topics:

·       Evaluate advancements in surgical techniques and postoperative outcomes for cochlear implant recipients.

·       Assess the impact of cochlear implants on language development and educational/social outcomes in children.

·       Implement effective telehealth and remote programming strategies in cochlear implant care.

·       Analyze factors influencing quality of life and social functioning in cochlear implant users.

·       Explore the role of artificial intelligence and technological innovations in improving cochlear implant outcomes.

·       Manage complex cases in cochlear implantation, including patients with comorbid conditions.

·       Enhance music perception and appreciation in cochlear implant users through targeted interventions.

·       Understand the relationship between vestibular function, balance, and cochlear implantation.

·       Navigate healthcare economics and policy considerations in cochlear implantation practices.

Financial benefits are usually associated with roles such as employment, management position, independent contractor (including contracted research), consulting, speaking and teaching, membership on advisory committees or review panels, board membership, and other activities from which remuneration is received, or expected.
Conflict of Interest: Circumstances create a conflict of interest when an individual has an opportunity to affect CME content about products or services of a ineligible company with which he/she has a financial relationship.

The ACCME also requires that ACS manage any reported conflict and eliminate the potential for bias during the educational activity. Any conflicts noted below have been managed to our satisfaction.
